Tucumcari

Tucumcari is an awesome little town near the border of the Texas Panhandle in New Mexico on Old Route 66 and I-40. It has great shops, grub, hotels, a few fantastic museums, and lots of cool retro signs. After a day of traveling, it’s well worth the time to explore.

Don’t miss the creepy abandoned properties that still have their signs and decor… although I did hear some music coming from one of the rooms when I was walking around.

The Mesalands Dinosaur Museum and Natural Sciences Laboratory is also a fantastic spot with Dinos and Pleistocene mammals from the Community College’s paleontology department.

26 year old me being too cool for school on the children’s saddled up dinosaur.

My family (minus one sister) & I at the Mesalands Community College’s Dinosaur Museum.
