Roswell, New Mexico

If you’re into aliens, UFOs, and little green men then Roswell, New Mexico is the place for you. Not only have they totally embraced the schtick, but they have blasted off into outer space with it. The streetlights are alien heads, the McDonalds is turquoise, and UFOs are everywhere.

It isn’t just about aliens though, there’s Bottomless Lakes State Park nearby and the town is a great spot for breakfast burritos. And if you’re headed south towards Carlsbad Caverns National Park or west through Ruidoso it’s a fun way to spend the afternoon.

I absolutely recommend the International UFO Museum and Research Center and Gift Shop because they are speaking truth over there. It’s fun for all ages! And the Library is quite extensive.

Just down the road from the IUFOMRCGS is another awesome interactive spot called Alien Zone: Area 51. There, you can take pictures with the little guys while grilling out back, hanging upside down, having a few drinks, and a lot more. The experience is out of this world.

El Toro Bravo on Main Street served up some mean Hatch Green Chile Rellano! My family and I also enjoyed the Stardust Antiques Art & Artifacts.
