Split Rock Trail

2.4 Miles Roundtrip

Varying Up & Down Hike With Small Joshua Trees, Amazing Rock Formations, & Great Views

While there may not be a lot of Joshua Trees on this Joshua Tree hike (an easy 2.4 mile loop), this one still rocks on account of the rocks alone! Take split rock, for instance; it’s, as its name suggests, a rock that looks like it has been split in half. But upon closer inspection, it’s so much more than that. Also, be on the lookout for the nearby accompanying and (in)appropriate rock buddy ready to enter your imagination.

All jokes aside, this hike really does rock and it really is because of the awesome Joshua Tree style rocks that make the place so unique and fun. Make sure to climb the rocks and enjoy the views. This was the first hike I ever did in Joshua Tree National Park and it made me instantly fall in love with the whole place. Be on the lookout for the eye of the sewing needle and Tulip Rock. Plus there are a few little Joshua Tree looking Yuccas hiding out.
