Navajo Loop & Queen’s Garden Trail
The best hike in Bryce Canyon is by far the Navajo Loop to Queens Garden Trail (2.9 mile loop) which you should definitely start at the Navajo Loop section by Sunset Point. You start at the top, wind your way down in and amongst the hoodoos and walls of red, orange, yellow, and white before going through tunnels, doorways, through the trees, and eventually up the other end at Sunrise Point. It’s an engineering trail marvel. And it really doesn’t matter what time of day you do it, because it’s going to be beautiful regardless.
The trail starts above the hoodoos and cliffside amphitheater before you slowly descend past Thor’s Hammer and little windows and spires until you reach the beautiful deep red switchbacks.
Once down the switchbacks you’re amongst the green trees with the hoodoos towering above you and it’s a peaceful wondrous hike and one hell of a place to lose a cow.
Then before you know it, you’re ascending back up onto the rim where you’ll be able to watch the sunset or drive up and start the rest of your day in the park.
